This one is written from inside an account we opened, built a funnel in, and kept — because the permanently free plan gives us no reason to close it. That’s the review in one sentence, honestly: the strongest thing about systeme.io is that its $0 tier is a real product, and the fairest criticism is that you can feel where the money isn’t.

It is not the best tool for polish-sensitive brands or live-webinar businesses. Templates sit a tier below premium competitors, webinars are evergreen-only, and free-plan pages carry a systeme.io badge. You trade finish for price, knowingly.

What we actually did
We signed up (email and password — no card, exactly as advertised), chose “Build an audience” as our funnel goal, and had a working two-step funnel — opt-in page wired to a thank-you page — in under ten minutes, most of which was browsing templates:

Three of those rows are category outliers. Unlimited email sends at $0 (competitors meter sends before contacts). An affiliate program manager on a free plan (Kajabi gates this behind a $249/mo tier). And 0% transaction fees everywhere — the free plan isn’t monetized by taxing your sales.
The catches we hit in practice: pages carry a “Powered by systeme.io” badge until you pay, the single automation rule means your delivery email is basically the one automation you get, and the funnel lives on a systeme.io subdomain unless you connect your included custom domain (do this on day one — your links shouldn’t die if you ever migrate).
The paid tiers, briefly

Where it falls short — honestly
Template polish. The galleries are serviceable, not beautiful. If your audience judges design hard (creatives, premium coaching), budget custom work or look at ClickFunnels for deeper funnel craft.

The course experience is basic. One course on the free plan hosts video lessons perfectly well, but there are no assessments, no interactive video, no certificates worth the name. Automation depth arrives late. One rule and one workflow at $0, ten rules at $17. Complex behavioral sequences (tag-based branching, multi-condition workflows) want the higher tiers — or an email-first tool.
One documentation quirk worth knowing: systeme.io’s own FAQ describes some tiers more generously than its pricing table (we found “unlimited funnels” claimed for a tier the table caps at 10). When a vendor’s page contradicts itself, budget on the stricter number — we do.
